When people think of the most dominant and successful NBA teams in recent years there is one team that always comes to mind, the Miami Heat. With a lineup containing three of the biggest stars in the sport, the Heat have been a force to be reckoned even when they haven’t been playing their best. After adding Lebron James and Chris Bosh to their lineup in 2010/2011, the Heat have won 2 championships in 2012 and 2013. However, Lebron James was given an early termination clause in his contract and after this years loss in the finals to the San Antonio Spurs he has decided to use it. Though he might necessarily leave the team, the fact that he has terminated his contract means that the Heat might either lose their start player or be forced to cough up much more money to keep him in Miami.
While losing Lebron would be a big blow to the team, they would still have 2 other superstars. That being said, both Wade and Bosh also have early termination clauses and it’s possible that Lebron leaving the team might effect their loyalty to the Heat as well. If the Heat were to lose all three star players they would be dealing with a greatly weaker roster and would most definitely find it difficult to maintain their most recent records.
